Exterior Signage
Exterior Signage should reflect the GROOMBAR Primary Logo. There should be a well-displayed and well-lit GROOMBAR sign on the outside of the building, in addition to vinyl signage and imagery of dogs on the entry doors and windows.
Color: The default/ideal signage color should be GROOMBAR Purple (Pantone: 2080c) with black returns.
Secondary color options ONLY: In some cases where construction, background, or landlords require neutral colors and no lighting, gray/black (Black 7 c) or silver signage is advised.
In instances where the exterior of the building can be painted in the GROOMBAR purple colors, white signage can be used.
Mount: Direct flush mount is desired, where allowed and where it is possible to be lit. Raceway mounting should be a secondary option but is approved for installation where landlords require it or light is not possible without it. Raceway mounting should blend with the color of the wall it is attached to.
Alternative signage: A circular blade sign can be used as an option where signage restrictions dictate. The blade sign can also and should be used in addition to the primary signage when the opportunity represents. The blade sign design can be inverted on colors.
Your chosen signage company should be able to provide mockups for your location so you and the Corporate team can go over what will work best for your location.
All signage designs must be approved by Corporate.
Interior Signage
Some signage and imagery is at the franchisee's discretion, However, the following items are hard requirements for GROOMBAR locations.
Mural: The GROOMBAR mural is a key part of our branding and must appear in the customer-facing area of all GROOMBARs.
Installation Type: The mural must be installed professionally in high-durability vinyl. The waves on the background can be painted if you have a painting contractor experienced in this type of painting. See more details in the painting section of this guide.
Customization: The mural can have customized dog imagery. Local or owner dogs. In this instance, the pictures must be shot by a professional animal photographer in the highest, scalable resolution.
Please note: Photography of animals does not always yield controlled results. Corporate must approve the imagery/design and in some rare cases, the imagery may not meet brand standards and therefore be rejected.
Self-Wash Sign: A self-wash sign must be visible so customers know that the service is available behind the glass doors. A sign should also appear at the entry of the self-wash bays, either on or above the doors.
Installation/Mount Type: Silver metallic metal mount for budgets that allow, GROOMBAR purple vinyl clings as a budget-friendly option.
Scissors: All GROOMBAR locations must have a graphic of our scissors icon on the glass doors entering the grooming and self-wash areas. These can be etched glass for budgets that allow, or sheer vinyl glass clings for a more budget-friendly option.
Reception Signage: The GROOMBAR icon with dogs in a glass should appear on the front of the reception counter and can also appear behind the counter on the wall if you so choose.
Installation/Mount Type: Silver metallic metal mount for budgets that allow, GROOMBAR purple vinyl clings as a budget-friendly option.
Non-Permanent: It is at the franchisee's discretion as to what decorative imagery and service menu signage is displayed, with the provision that it fits the GROOMBAR brand colors and standards. Pictures of dogs, counter signage for services and many more options can be considered and discussed with Corporate team members.
All signage mockups must be viewed and approved by Corporate.
Window Signage
Window clings should reflect the GROOMBAR brand and clearly display services and imagery that indicate this is a dog grooming salon.
Door: The door must have a white GROOMBAR primary logo, with the phone number, website, and hours of operation clearly listed below. It's also advised that you note that your store is locally owned and operated.
Side Windows: Services and pictures of dogs must appear clearly on the windows. Please use supplied, resizable, customizable Adobe Illustrator file/s. All professional signage companies should be able to work with these files to customize the correct wording and sizes for your location.
Installation Type: Professionally printed and installed vinyl window clings.
Coming Soon: The file includes a "coming soon" sign that can be added to the top of the windows or doors and then removed once the location is open.
All signage designs must be approved by Corporate.
Flooring
Flooring throughout the building should reflect the GROOMBAR branding, but also meet durability standards for wear and tear. Follow the guide below to help make your GROOMBAR beautiful and long-lasting.
Reception Area/Self-Wash: All customer-facing areas of the building should have high-durability, medium gray, textured tile flooring. The tiles should be laid in a herringbone (diagonal) pattern.
Back of House: It is ideal to select a concrete flooring for the back of house, given that the wear and tear in these areas will be significant. Although it can be more expensive, the longevity of the concrete option will be significantly more economical over time.
Talk with out construction team for other options if concrete does not fit your location.
Floor Mat Guide
Entry and customer-facing areas: A branded GROOMBAR rug is required inside of the main customer entrance. Heavy duty, polypropylene loop-pile is recommended. Black with purple logo. It is recommended to pay for a service contract and have the rug cleaned and replaced every 2 weeks if available.
The typical size is approximately 60” x 36”.

Behr: LEMON POUND CAKE (320B-4)
To appear on the GROOMBAR mural only. May sometimes appear in utility or break rooms as an accent wall, but only when it does not dilute the lavender/pink primary brand theme.
Note: You don't have to use Behr paint, but it's recommended that you use the Marquee version of it if you do. Any brand can match Behr colors by giving them the stated code. It's best not to mix brands as the chemical differences can create slight color variations.
Make sure the paint provider matches Behr's color and not a color with the same name in their collection.
Mural - Read Carefully
A GROOMBAR mural is a requirement for GROOMBAR stand-alone location. It should appear in the main customer-facing retail/reception space.
Achieving the GROOMBAR mural with a clean-line result is not simple, so please discuss this with your painting contractor in-depth and ask Corporate for support when needed. It's important that you choose a painter that is experienced in clean patterned accent walls and can provide assurance that the job will be completed to the specifications.
The result must NOT be "scrappy" or appear with obvious paint brush lines. It should appear as block colors with clean lines.
Please note, the dog images and the text copy will be applied as vinyl signage on top of the painted, waved background.
The wall finish should be level 5/Smooth in order to achieve clean lines, and the paint ratio and design should match the example on the next page. (Scroll down)
If your painter is not comfortable achieving this result, please defer to an all-vinyl wall covering for the full design. Files and details can be found in the Interior Signage portion of this guide.
Wall Coverings
Wall coverings and paint throughout the building should reflect the GROOMBAR branding, but also meet durability standards for wear and tear. Follow the guide below to help make your GROOMBAR beautiful and long-lasting.
Self-Wash: White subway tile is the standard wall covering for our Self-Wash areas. Tiling should cover walls in high-impact zones of the self-wash rooms.
Grooming Section: High-impact areas of the grooming section of your store should have at least 6’ high protective covering in the way of white subway tile or white FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Panels). FRP is more commonly used and is far more economical. If you do choose to move forward with tile, the tile must match the tile used in the self-wash area.

Sound Abatement
It is imperative that sound abatement is taken into consideration while constructing your GROOMBAR.
Sound abatement can be discussed with our Corporate construction specialists and with your on-site construction team.
There are numerous options depending on the build-out of your location, but it's important to consider upgrading your insulation to soundproofing insulation and consider other sound abatement methods within the space to reduce the noise that can bleed into the reception and waiting areas, as well as adjoining businesses and tenants.
Taking this measure can avoid costly issues in the future.
